Priesthood

bullet

“We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church, that is, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists,” and so forth. Therefore we believe that the president of the church is supposed to be a prophet, seer, revelator, and translator—and have the fruits or produce of a prophet.

bullet

“We believe in the gift of tongues, prophesy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues,” and so forth, including in the present time.

bullet

“We believe that a man must be called of God by ‘prophesy, and by laying on of hands’ [or revelation] by those who are in authority to preach the gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.”  Therefore we believe that the president of the church must be “appointed by revelation” (D&C 5:6).

bullet

We believe that David was king in Israel, and that he was chosen by God, and that the Bible and Doctrine and Covenants prophecy of more “kings and priests.”  We believe that James J. Strang was chosen by God to be a priestly King.

bullet

The highest office remaining in the church today is “Elder,” in the Melchizedek Priesthood, however there are a number of people who claim our beliefs but who have spurious offices (without legal descent from proper authorities).  We do believe in all of the higher offices instituted during the administration of Joseph Smith, but they are at present not filled, just as they sometimes were even during his lifetime.

bullet

Our Biblical beliefs on priesthood are outlined in the Book of the Law of the Lord as well as the Doctrine and Covenants.

Tithing

bullet

We do not currently have a bishop, and therefore do not collect tithing.  This site is administered by one elder, not tithing.  Membership is free.  Most faithful members do some good on their own with a tithe (biblical 10%) of their increase.

Continuing Faith

For baptism for the remission
of sins, it is necessary only to have
faith toward God, and to repent of all sin.
